Land of Enchantment Miniature Horse Club News:
We are busy working on plans for this year’s Spring Fiesta Miniature Horse show coming up in May.
This show is listed in the AMHA Miniature Horse World magazine, and other publications have been contacted to run listings. We are also checking into TV stations for “things to do” listings.
The State Fair organizers have not decided yet how many days this year’s State Fair will be. This may cause conflicts with the various breed’s horse shows. There is also a possible conflict with scheduling the Miniature horse show too close to the AMHA World show at the end of September. We’ll see what they come up with.
Show posters and “tickets” have been designed and approved by the club. We are going to have these printed up so club members can distribute them.
The ribbons will be ordered by Feb. 15th so that the club will get a 10% discount on those. We are looking for ideas for items to use as random awards.
The annual AMHA convention is coming up this month in Louisville, Kentucky. The AMHA has made a notification of some show rule changes that are to be posted a AMHA shows. These include a clarification of the measuring process, clarification of height protests, and a change to the halter class ring pattern. More info. On these can be found on the AMHA website.
The next club meeting will be on Tuesday, March 2nd, 6:00 PM at Anne’s house in Albuquerque. We will be continuing our $10 or less swap table at this meeting, so look for items to bring. If you need directions, you can contact me at hobyhorse13@yahoo.com
See you then, Lisa Welter
